Dear St. Francis Family and Friends,
Unfortunately, the pandemic continues … and also our responses as mandated by our leaders, both secular and religious. To that end, here is a message from our Fellowship Committee regarding what was to have been our Parish Picnic at the end of May:
“Regrettably, due to continuing concerns about the Covid19 pandemic, we are unable to gather at Billy Dreher Island state park. Therefore, we must cancel the boat blessing and parish picnic originally scheduled for May 31. If anyone can secure a safe location for the boat blessing and parish picnic, please call Amy at 803-361-3519.”
(editorial note: “safe location” would be one outside and in which family units could maintain the required social distancing of 6 feet between each family unit)
Meanwhile, this is the 6th Sunday of Easter and also our 9th Sunday in the “Season of Sheltering.” Bishop Waldo has communicated that he will not consider re-opening our congregations until South Carolina has seen 14 consecutive days of a decline in new cases of COVID-19, and his current directive is that we are to remain closed through the end of May. I will keep you updated as to any anticipated date of re-gathering.

And, as usual, here is a link to the worship offerings at our Washington National Cathedral.
Everyone shelter at home as much as possible and stay safe and healthy!
May God bless and keep us all.
May all be for the Glory of God.
God is good … all the time!
