At the beginning of the worship service for June 7th, Fr. Manning explained the current status of the reopening plan addressed last week. The plan has been submitted to the diocese. However, the initiation of the phased approach is delayed due to the rising rate of COVID-19 infection in South Carolina. Bishop Waldo is assessing this situation at least every two weeks and making decisions for the diocese accordingly. He knows some parishioners wish to reopen and reconnect while others are fearful of in-person interactions. He is also aware that other denominations are doing things differently. His primary concern is the safety of all and thus a conservative approach is mandated at this time. As things change, more updates will be provided.
