Are there any fees associated with using Paypal for my contributions?
Yes, Paypal charges 2.2% of your contribution plus a $0.30 transaction fee. These fees are paid for by the church and do not detract from your contribution. For example, when you give $100, the church will receive $97.50 and pay a fee of $2.50 to Paypal. Your contribution will be recognized as the full $100.
Will Paypal fees be deducted from my contributions?
No, all fees associated with the use of Paypal will be paid for by the church. For example, when you give $100, the church will receive $97.50 and pay a fee of $2.50 to Paypal. Your contribution will be recognized as the full $100.
Is there a way I can avoid fees when giving to the church?
Yes, when you make your contribution by cash or check, the church pays no fees and as such receives 100% of your contribution. Most banks offer free Billpay services that can be used for one time or recurring contributions. Your bank should be able to help set up this service.
Do I need a Paypal account in order to make a contribution using Paypal?
In the case of one time and memorial donations, no. Contributions can be made via credit cards, debit cards or with a Paypal account. The donate button will allow you to make donations with or without a Paypal account.
Recurring donations require you to establish an account with PayPal. When you are initially setting up the recurring donations, the web site gives you these instructions: “To change or cancel your automatic payment, log in to your PayPal account, go to Profile, and choose Payments. Then click “Manage automatic payments”.
Can I set up recurring contributions in Paypal?
Yes, you can select making a recurring transaction monthly using the donate button on our website. You will be notified each month that the transaction has occurred and can end the recurring payments at any time.
How do I end recurring payments?
To change or cancel your automatic payment with St Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, log in to your PayPal account, go to Profile, and choose Payments. Then click “Manage automatic payments”.
Can I get a summary of my transactions?
You can get a summary by following the link on the Give page.
Can I direct my contribution to any of our current funds?
No, at this time we are only enabling contributions to Pledge Payments, Gifts (No Pledge) or Memorials. Contributions to funds such as Flowers, Rector Discretionary Fund, etc. should be made by cash or check to the church.
If I’m making a contribution as a Memorial is there anything I need to do differently?
Yes, if your contribution is a Memorial gift, please let us know for whom the gift is given by typing the name into the memo field.
Will I get my normal statements from the church if I give via Paypal?
Yes, you will receive normal statements from the church if you are a giver of record.
