In-Person Worship Update

Home » In-Person Worship Update

This information was provided at the start of the May 31, 2020 worship video.  I extracted a few key details to pass along here.  These efforts are obviously subject to change as the plan is approved and executed.  However, here is a general outline.

  1.  The parish has written and submitted a plan to the Bishop for the phased reopening of in-person Sunday worship.
  2. Once the plan is approved, ushers and others involved in Sunday worship will be trained on performing duties and responsibilities in as safe a manner as possible.  This Phase 2 training will require several Sunday sessions so that all worship leaders and facilitators know what practices and procedures apply.  Bishop Waldo’s guidance is that no one is made ill through attendance at an in-person worship session.
  3. At a date still to be determined (late June — early July?), in-person worship will begin again.  This is called phase 3 of the reopening plan.  It will have some very specific requirements.  EVERYONE WILL be required to wear a mask during the service and “social distancing” will occur.  For those uncomfortable with these restrictions, the live stream and YouTube options for internet worship will remain available.
  4. Eventually, we will get to Phase 4.  This phase approximates what we had before the COVID-19 pandemic.

More details will be provided once the plan is approved.   In the meantime, please avail yourself of the on-line worship options available.

Go in Peace to Love and Serve the Lord,
