We are blessed with a wealth of opportunities to share our many talents and special gifts with one another. We have many different opportunities that would benefit from your spiritual gifts.
Pastoral Care Teams
We reach out to each other in times of need and celebration. Please prayerfully consider being a part of our pastoral care mission. Provide meals and other assistance to members of our parish family. Each team consists of 4 members who work together to provide for those returning from a hospital stay,
death in the family, new baby, etc. Each team serves for a one-month cycle. Email Peggy Williams to become a part of this ministry.
In Our Community
At St. Francis of Assisi, we share a passion for helping others in our community and throughout the world. We support a number of programs designed to help those in need and further the mission of the Christian church.
The St. Francis of Assisi Community Thrift Store was founded in 1983 and has made a tremendously positive impact in community of Chapin and across the globe. Funds raised through the sale of donated items support multiple outreach ministries worldwide.
On April 22, 2012, St. Francis held a blessing of the grounds ceremony for our future, expanded Thrift Store. Reverend Phil Purser led the brief service marking a new chapter in the life of Chapin’s oldest thrift store. State representative Chip Huggins attended the ceremony and presented a proclamation in honor of the occasion. Huggins thanked the parishioners and volunteers for their leadership and support of the community. The new store, located at 114 Courtland Road, supports our vast outreach ministry.

Events for Disadvantaged Youth
The outreach committee hosts a number of events throughout the year to help disadvantaged youth in our community, including a summer camp, school supply drive, a fall carnival, Easter baskets and annual Christmas party.
Our parish has also supported a number of adult and youth mission trips throughout the years. Adult parishioners have traveled a number of times to Mississippi to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. Our Youth Group has taken mission trips to Quito, Ecuador in 2010, and to Calais, Maine in 2011.
